VICTOR RAMOS - 1930 -2007.

Victor Ramos was a talented casting agent, helping to cast "Star Wars" and other notable projects such as "Apocalypse Now", working with Coppola on a few of his films.

In his casting reportoire, he worked with the talent scouts who found Matt Dillon in the auditions for "Over The Edge". In the auditions, Vic saw that Matt had such talent and potential, that he gave up casting and became Matt's full time manager, as well as others like Vincent Spano who also starred in "Rumble Fish".

His newly created management agency in New York handled a small group of actors who knew that they would be looked after, since Vic had been an actor himself, growing up on the sets of films where his father worked as a grip for the Studio RKO in Los Angeles. He married Virginia Loew, who died in 1964.

Vic died on October 21st, due to pulmonary failure at the age of 77.

Matt Dillon spoke about his dedicated manager, saying "he was a great friend, had a lot of style. He taught me a lot over the years."

Fred Roos also paid tribute to his fellow worker on Coppola films, saying that Vic "had great taste, a great eye and would always find worthy people."

As Vic found worthy people, it just goes to follow that he would find a worthwhile cause to support. He was a board member and tireless volunteer for the New York charity, Stockings With Care, where donations are being accepted in his memory.
