Larry Clark is an acclaimed yet controversial writer and director who focuses on youth culture ("Kids", "Bully") hailing from Tulsa, Oklahoma.

He also takes photographs and his seminal photographs of teenage life in Tulsa from the late '50s and early '60s have been an influence on Coppola's styling of "Rumble Fish".

As you can see from these previously unpublished images scanned below, the use of shadows and lighting in black and white are very effective and bring to mind the look of scenes in "Rumble Fish".
