When Rusty-James reached the ocean at the end of "Rumble Fish", people wondered if Matt Dillon's career would sink or swim.
Luckily he proved himself to be a versatile actor as he branched away from the teen roles and "Drugstore Cowboy" proved he was more than a pretty face. His comedic skills came to light in "Something About Mary" and he also showed his creativity and vision as he wrote and directed "City of Ghosts".
Matt is a Jazz enthusiast, specifically collecting Cuban vinyl records and takes an interest in film making, reading, art, cigars and travelling.
He played against type as the racist L.A cop in "Crash" showing the humanity of a flawed character, earning lots of award nominations. Matt was awarded a life time achievement award in 2006 at the San Sebastian Film Festival.
Matt was due to join his "Rumble Fish" director, Coppola in his new project "Tetro" but unfortunately due to the writer's strike, there was a clash in scheduling and so Matt won't be appearing in it now.
Notable Film Roles - "City of Ghosts" and "Factotum".
Mickey Rourke - The Motorcycle Boy
Starring as the enigmatic quietly spoken Motorcycle Boy who roars onto the scene in "Rumble Fish", Mickey Rourke makes his presence heard.
Whether it's seducing Kim Basinger in "9½ Weeks", giving up acting to be a boxer or being a meth cook in "Spun", Mickey's career has gone through many developments.
Despite his face now virtually unrecognisable due to the aftermath of boxing and reconstructive surgery, he still inhabits his film characters with a charisma that draws people to his performances.
After being blacklisted by Hollywood due to his opinions on the industry, Mickey gradually worked his way back onscreen by getting cameo parts, leading to the groundbreaking "Sin City" where he established himself as Marv, the protagonist who has a very high sense of chivalry.
Mickey trains in martial arts (Muay Thai fighting) and sees a therapist often. He is a big fan of little dogs that nobody else wants, adopting seven of them. His favourite is Loki, a Chihuahua.
He has just finished "The Wrestler", a film by Darren Aronofsky.
A future project yet to be released is "Kill Shot" with Diane Lane whilst "Sin City 2" is in the works.
Notable Film Roles - "Angel Heart" and "Sin City".
As the troubled alcoholic father, many people said Dennis Hopper was simply playing a caricature of himself.
After "Rumble Fish", he cleaned up his drug and narcotic use, battling various addictions and set to working as a actor. Indeed some of his roles in the late '80s are his best, such as the unforgettable Frank Booth in "Blue Velvet".
Dennis is a renaissance man, talented at painting and writing as well as an acclaimed photographer and award winning director. He is one of the top 100 art collectors in the world, having collected since the '60s.
He is still a prolific actor and has various projects up for release, the latest one being an untitled Michael Madsen project.
Notable Film Roles - "Blue Velvet" and "True Romance".
