Although the city where Rusty-James and his gang live, is never named,

"Rumble Fish" was filmed on location in Tulsa and Supulpa in Oklahoma, USA.

Bryan Mott kindly took photographs exclusively for Wrong Side of the River on his latest visit to Tulsa, to show us how some places seen in "Rumble Fish" look today as well as atmospheric photographs of the city itself.

In the photos you can see the following:

Row 1. A painted advert below the stairs leading up to Rusty-James' apartment, a building next to it showing that he lives off Route 66, nighttime at Tulsa, under the bridge, and the river bank.

Row 2. Patty's school, the offices that were once Benny's Billiards, the tulsa skyline, the wall outside Rusty-James's school and time's a funny thing.

Row 3. In an alleyway near the apartment, under the stairs, the store that used to be the magazine/drugstore, one way, and brothers on wheels.

Row 4. Neon Cains, close-up of Cains, Rusty-James's school, Mayo's and the Boston St Church.
