London Screening At The Prince Charles Cinema Tonight!

March 5th, 2013

Tonight The Prince Charles Cinema is showing Rumble Fish on the big screen in London!

This is a great treat and to commemorate the occasion, I’ve ordered cupcakes for the audience to enjoy whilst watching one of our favourite movies! Take your pick from chocolate, vanilla and red velvet, yum. Thanks to the amazing Crumbs and Doilies.

Stewart Copeland retweeted the Rumble Fish Fans tweet about the showing so I hope to see some of you there to enjoy the rarity of this screening. Seeing it on 35mm is a real experience as you see things you had not noticed before. Be sure to share your experience of the evening with us on twitter as I’ll live tweet the evening from the fans twitter account at @RumbleFishFans

Come back soon to hear all about James Clarke’s long awaited documentary Greaser or Soc, looking at the Tulsan people and their experiences with working on The Outsiders and Rumble Fish! We are also gearing up for the 30th Anniversary of The Outsiders release, so there will be lots happening including a new website layout and design!

Lee Roy Chapman on Tulsa news

August 31st, 2011

Lee Roy starts his Tuesday by promoting Motorcycle Boy's Never Coming Back
Here is a video clip of Lee Roy promoting the Exhibition on KTUL yesterday morning!

Please don’t forget that we are having a Rumble Fish related Meet and Greet before the “MOTORCYCLE BOY’S NEVER COMING BACK” exhibition!

We’ll be at Caz’s Chowhouse, opposite Benny’s Billiards at 18 East Brady Street from 6pm onwards on Friday 2nd September.

Come meet local actors, extras and crew people from Rumble Fish!

Due to the heat, we moved this from the patio outdoors to the cool indoors, so come and have a drink or bite to eat with us and discuss Rumble Fish with people who were there when it was filming!

Rumble Fish art exhibition and screening in Tulsa, 2nd September!

August 29th, 2011

This Friday, the original building used as Benny’s Billiards is  hosting an art exhibition inspired by Rumble Fish as well as a late night screening at the Circle Cinema!

I will be lucky enough to be flying out to  Tulsa, to  be attending this and hope I will see a lot of fellow like-minded fans there. Who couldn’t pass up the opportunity to see a favourite film screened in an historic location, the Circle Cinema, (which is also the cinema Ponyboy walked out of in The Outsiders:Complete Novel edition!) and see a fantastic art exhibition at the original Benny’s Billiards?

This Land Press, a fantastic new media company are putting together the video art installation as part of their Public Secrets series, curated by Lee Roy Chapman who will also introduce the later film screening at the Circle Cinema.

James Clarke, a documentary filmmaker is also travelling down this weekend to meet people to interview for his documentary on the Tulsan connection to The Outsiders and Rumble Fish. We are organising a fan get together at Caz’s Chowhouse opposite Benny’s Billiards from 6pm onwards if people want to grab a bite to eat, along with a few drinks! We’re also hoping to visit people or locations over the weekend so drop me a line if you want to meet up to share your Rumble Fish stories in Tulsa.

Tickets to the screening are available to buy at $8.50 from the Circle Cinema website itself.  Be sure to RSVP to the event pages on facebook (Art Exhibit and Screening) and follow this site’s accounts on twitter or facebook as I will be updating throughout the weekend if I can…

To celebrate this site’s re-launch coming up in September/October, I will have Rumble Fish and The Outsiders related goodies to give away in the next few weeks, so please do check back here on the blog!
